Man awaits trial after denying murder of baby boy

by Dylan

A 33-year-old man has denied murdering a six-month-old boy.

Kieran Humphreys, of Bromley Gardens, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, has been accused of murdering Archie Woodbridge in February.

He entered a not guilty plea during a pre-trial hearing at Luton Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Humphreys, who was remanded in custody pending trial by a judge, also denied being cruel to Archie and denied conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Two others – Sam Wyatt, 33, and Karen Smith, 39, both of Dolphin Drive, Houghton Regis – also denied conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Both were remanded on bail pending trial.

Judge Michael Simon set a trial date of 6 October and said he aimed to reconsider the case on 22 May.

Police have told how they were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a baby at an address in Houghton Regis at about 17:30 GMT on 9 February 2024.

They said Archie died in hospital.
